What HKI Is Doing
- Over the past 10 years, HKI has developed school health programs that focus on providing health education, enhancing the school environment, encouraging community outreach activities and offering improved health services to both students and the larger community.
- School health programs are one of the most cost-effective and sustainable ways to promote healthy practices. They are especially valuable in countries where primary schools outnumber health centers.
- In Asia and Africa, HKI’s school programs address malnutrition, anemia, neglected tropical diseases (including trachoma), refractive error, and proper eye care.
