Josh Ruxin, Assistant Clinical Professor of Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health and Director of the Access Project for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria at the Center for Global Health and Economic Development at Columbia University, blogs about the struggles to prevent and treat Trachoma in the developing world.

He references the WHO-endorsed SAFE strategy (Surgery-Antibiotics-Face cleanliness-Environmental improvements), and argues that the best way to control Trachoma is to both treat those already infected with the disease, and prevent its spread to begin with.
