Helen Keller International Leads Vitamin A Distribution in Cambodia.
Kampot, Cambodia – On November 1st, Helen Keller International (HKI) celebrated its biannual launch of vitamin A distribution in Kampot, Cambodia. Approximately 700 people attended the event, the majority of whom were women and children. Among the attendees was the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Piper Campbell; Secretary of State for Health, H.E. Prof. Eng Huot; and Vice Provincial Governor, H.E. Sot Yea, who helped administer vitamin A tablets to 200 children attending. HKI organized the event in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s National Nutrition Program and the Kampot Provincial Health Department; support for HKI’s vitamin A program is provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). HKI organized a similar event in March 2006.
