Just Calm Down Spa Donates Proceeds
of Auction to Helen Keller International’s
Tsunami Disaster Relief Efforts
New York, March 29, 2005 – From
January 18th through February 28th,
Just Calm Down, A Jewel of a Spa,
held a silent auction of original,
Valentine's Day-inspired paintings
by New York City artist Robert
Witkow. The spa raised $875.00
from the auction of fourteen pieces
of artwork, and 100% of the proceeds
were generously donated to Helen
Keller International's tsunami
disaster relief fund. Working
with other nongovernmental organizations
under the aegis of the United Nations,
Helen Keller International (HKI)
has been working in Indonesia since
the disaster occurred. HKI
is providing needed micronutrients
to help improve the health of the
victims of the tsunami, and is
also conducting a rapid emergency
assessment to help coordinate relief
efforts. HKI is still accepting
contributions at http://www.hki.org/about/press_releases/tsunami_relief.htm Mr.
Witkow's work can be seen at this
local spa; for more information,
