To accomplish its work, HKI builds the capacity of local governmental, civil society and private sector systems and infrastructure, and promotes the development of sustained, large-scale programs that deliver effective preventative and curative eye health and nutrition services. The hallmark of the organization’s work is its proven effectiveness in developing, testing and scaling-up health interventions, and integrating them within government and community structures. HKI works with partners around the world to help meet key provisions of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), selected by all 191 United Nations member states, as well as VISION2020, The Right to Sight.

With nearly 600 staff and an annual cash operating budget of over $35 million, HKI is seeking a Senior Manager of Human Resources – Employment Services at its Headquarters office.

Overview:
In collaboration with the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and the Senior Manager of Human Resources for Benefits and Payroll, the Senior Manager of Human Resources for Employment Services assists in delivery of Human Resources programs and services in alignment with HKI’s strategic plan and operational goals. The position manages the employment cycle, including:

  • Plan, direct and implement strategic recruitment and employment program, including working with management to analyze and plan future workforce needs;
  • Improve staffing processes including sourcing and selection, strategy, systems and implementation;
  • Employee onboarding and orientation programs;
  • Performance management process and program;
  • Human Resource Management System;
  • Employee exiting; and,
  • Intern and volunteer program management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree with 5-10 years of broad generalist international nonprofit experience in a multi-location environment
  • PHR/SPHR certification or a Masters Degree is highly desirable
  • Exceptional managerial skills, the ability to lead by example, and a demonstrated ability to think strategically, tactically and creatively
  • Experience in and preference to work in a team environment, serving as a business partner to program and operational departments
  • Competence in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and strong computing skills
